Xiaomi has changed the design of its latest Redmi 8 series. The smartphone comes with a bigger display measuring 6.53 inches. You will geta waterdrop notch at the top of the device which holds the selfie camera. The earpiece is placed just above the display of Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro. Xiaomi has used Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for the protection of this device.
Xiaomi has reduced the thickness of the bezels of the bottom by using a chip-on-film display. On the right side of the device, you will get the power and volume buttons. The power button is well-positioned while the volume rocker needs a little bit of improvement.
You will get two trays on the left side of the device: one has only a Nano-SIM slot while the other has the second Nano-SIM slot along with a dedicated microSD card slot. Xiaomi has added the MicroSD card slot, especially for the Indian market.
The backside of the phone has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection which also made a good grip. The camera is placed just in the center of the device which is slightly raised. You will get the fingerprint scanner into the raised camera module.
Usually, you will see the Fingerprint Scanner recessed into the bodies but Note 8 Pro has a different story. LED flash is placed next to the camera module along with a separate macro camera positioned under it.
At the bottom of the device, the Note 8 Pro comes with a USB Type-C port, loudspeaker, and primary microphone while on the top of the device you will get the IR emitter and secondary microphone. You will get a clear plastic case in the box along with an 18W fast charger.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications And Software
The Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a big 6.53-inch display with a Full-HD+ with a screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and HDR support. It automatically gets bright enough when you are out of your home with a maximum brightness of 500 nits.
This phone comes with MediaTek Helio G90T SoC which is specifically designed for gaming. The processor competes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC. The processor used in this phone is Helio G90T which is an octa-core processor with two performance ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.05GHz and six efficiency Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. Talking about the graphics, it has an ARM Mali-G76 MC4 integrated GPU clocked at 800MHz.
To maintain temperatures on this processor, this phone comes with liquid cooling along with dual pyrolytic sheets.
You will get three variants in Redmi Note 8 Pro with the first variant comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage priced at Rs. 14,999. The second variant comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and is priced at Rs. 15,999. The latest variant of the phone gets 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and you have to pay Rs. 17,999.
This phone comes with UFS 2.1 storage instead of EMMC 5.1 which is common at this price segment. You can expand the storage by using a microSD card of up to 512GB.
Talking about the connectivity options on the device include Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, dual 4G VoLTE, along with a four navigation systems. Xiaomi comes with a 4,500mAh battery. According to Xiaomi, this phone has a self-cleaning speaker which plays a low-frequency tone to try to eject dust.
This phone with MIUI 10 running on top of Android 9 Pie. Like other Xiaomi smartphones, the Note 8 Pro also comes with few pre-installed apps like Amazon, Facebook, WPS Office, Netflix, Dailyhunt, Gaana, and Opera Mini, etc. Xiaomi gives you some preinstalled games such as Ludo Master, Block Puzzle Guardian, Pop Shooter Blast, and Dust Settle.

You can switch from the traditional three-button navigation layout to swipe-based navigation. This processor supports dual-wake, Xiaomi has added both Amazon’s Alexa along with Google Assistant.
Both the Google Assistant and Alexa worked, I found at first that Alexa would take over the screen causing it to be unresponsive. You have to press the back button to use the smartphone again. An Alexa app update will fix this issue. The dual wake feature is very helpful as you can summon either assistant at any time even when the device is locked.
PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY LIFE
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro becomes the first smartphone in India to come with the new MediaTek Helio G90T processor. The processor is very good and I didn’t notice any kind of lag or stutter on this device when the usage was heavy. Apps were launched quickly, and 8GB of RAM controls that you can multitask easily without killing apps in the background.
The fingerprint scanner is very quick to unlock the smartphone. You will also get Face recognition option and it needs only a glance of your finger and face to unlock the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The display gets automatically bright enough when you are out of your home, and the speaker is loud enough to enjoy the content you are watching on Youtube and Netflix.
PUBG Mobiles settings defaulted to the High preset with graphics set to HD and the frame rate also set to High. The phone managed to run the game at these settings without any issues. After playing the game for 36 minutes you will notice a 12 percent battery drain. The phone will become warm at the end of the gaming session. I also raised the graphics up to HDR and frame rate to Ultra, and the smartphone could run the game at these settings with no protest. However, the device gets hot after playing for 20 minutes at high settings.
You will get a 4,500mAh battery in Redmi Note 8 Pro which went on for about 14 hours in the HD video loop test. Xiaomi gives you an 18W charger in the box which charged the big battery to 32 percent in 30 minutes and to 62 percent in an hour.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a quad-camera setup with primary camera is of 64-megapixel sensor with an f/1.79 aperture and 0.8-micron pixels. The second sensor is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture along with a 120-degree field of view. The third camera is of the 2-megapixel macro lens. There is also a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfie lovers, Xiaomi has added a 20-megapixel selfie camera.
Photos taken by the Redmi Note 8 Pro in daylight were sharp and also had good detail. HDR gets automatically enabled for bright scenes.
The wide-angle camera gives a wider field of view but lacked details.
Low light photography was excellent, the AI was quick to recognize scenes and set the camera accordingly. The phone captured good shots of detail with its primary camera at night. When night mode is on, the smartphone was able to capture brighter images with slightly better details, but you have to be still and stand to take perfect shots.
Close-up photos taken by the primary camera had good background separation and a natural bokeh effect.
The macro camera had good detail, but the resolution is only 2 megapixels.
You will get an option of setting the level of blur in the camera setting while taking portrait shots. The shots taken by this phone gives you a good separation between the subject and background. The colors were also accurate.
Taking a selfie from the front camera gives you sharp shots during the day. Selfies taken in low light gives you slightly lower details.
4K videos can be recorded at 30fps with the primary camera. You can also record videos with a selfie camera at 1080p 30fps. Videos shot during the day were stabilized. Video shots in low light had a shimmer affect in the video.
CONCLUSION OF XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 8 PRO SPECIFICATIONS
Xiaomi has equipped Redmi Note 8 Pro with powerful hardware previously unseen at this price range. The MediaTek Helio G90T can easily handle your gaming needs. It surely beats the Snapdragon 712 as well as the Snapdragon 730 SoC in terms of performance, making it stand out of the competition.
Xiaomi has upgraded up the camera hardware to compete with other smartphones in this price range, mostly competing with the Realme 5 Pro and Realme XT which offer good camera performance with a similar variety of sensors at the same price segment. But I feel that Redmi Note 8 Pro could do great with camera tweaks so as to give its best.
Now, the Redmi Note 8 Pro qualifies as a suitable successor to the Redmi Note 7 Pro. Xiaomi has offered the deal by pricing it at low and undercutting the Realme XT. If you are looking for a gaming device, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is an easy pick, but you might also want to look at the Poco F1 which costs the same and offers the same configurations such as same amounts of RAM and storage now that its price has been reduced so many times.
I hope my Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications and Review is helpful for you.
I will be glad to know if you have any questions regarding this Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications or about anything in the comment box below.
The last time Apple launched its various color options on iPhone 5C. Now today iPhone has again made different color options with its new iPhone XR.
Apple has introduced iPhone XR in yellow, white, coral, black, blue, and Red, which is a change as so compared to the usual options available from Apple. I really appreciate the understated finish of the iPhone XR.
iPhone XR’s frame is made of “aerospace-grade aluminum” compared to steel on the higher iPhone models, hence it gives you a premium feel.
Glass is used on both the front and the back of the iPhone XR, though Apple assures that only the front packs “the most durable glass ever in a smartphone”, so the back has to compromise a little. Both the fronts and the backs of the previous iPhone has the aforementioned “most durable glass ever”. The iPhone XR is IP67 rated, just like its previous iPhone X, while the other previous 2018 iPhone models are IP68 rated.
Basically, the iPhone XR is placed between the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, and as I think the iPhone XS form factor is ideal for most of the people, the iPhone XR represents a middle ground for those who are looking to join iPhone lineup without spending more money on high end devices.
The iPhone XR is wider than today’s large-screen Android smartphones and is weighs at 194g, it is heavier one as compared to another models. It’s bezels are thicker than the previous premium iPhone models of 2018.
You have to compromise a little with the thick bezels and somewhat old technology and mainly the old LCD Display.
One more thing which you won’t notice is 3D Touch. Some popular and major 3D Touch features such as the keyboard’s trackpad and to preview notifications have been provided by Apple without 3D Touch.
The LCD panel gives a lower contrast ratio and lacks HDR as well as Dolby Vision. It has low resolution at 828×1792 pixels at 326ppi which also means that text doesn’t look as sharp as it were on other iPhone models. Unless you are moving from an iPhone 8 or a normal inexpensive smartphone, you will not certainly notice that the quality is degraded, you will see the display.
It is not good to compromise especially when you are paying Rs. 75,000 for a smartphone, especially when at this price range or less most of the phones are offering higher-resolution displays.
PERFORMANCE SOFTWARE AND BATTERY LIFE
The iPhone XR is loaded with the Apple A12 Bionic chip, so it is good and also not surprising to see that its performance is pretty similar to the previous iPhones. It handled everything that I expected from a new iPhone and some other smartphones in this price range.
While playing PUBG Mobile, all the settings were set to high and the experience was still pretty smooth. I didn’t notice any kind of lags and heating issues.
Benchmarks show that the iPhone XR has 3GB of RAM, which you get on the iPhone X.
For the first time in Apple’s history, iPhones now feature dual-SIM support, but instead of adding a second SIM slot, you will get an eSIM.
iOS also doesn’t have the “dual apps” capability that some Android phones have added, which means you can run only one instance of apps like WhatsApp, further limiting your dual-SIM experience.
The iPhone XR gives the same “wider stereo playback” as used in the iPhone XS duo, and the sound is really impressive. However, the XR lacks the “Gigabit-class LTE” found in the previous two new iPhone models.
iOS 12 brings lots of new features, the iPhone experience in countries like India is less than ideal due to the features that apps like Apple Maps lack in these regions, something that we’ve noted.
Talking about the battery life, the experience was pretty much similar to what we have seen on the iPhone XS Max. iPhone XR easily lasted us a full day, even when your workload is heavier than usual it will manage. In the HD video loop test, the iPhone XR lasted 13 hours and 19 minutes.
Though the fast charging option is available iPhone XR as said by Apple. But the company provides no fast charger in the box, which is a big disappointment. You will also get the support of Wireless charging. Face unlock is also available which is very fast and secure too.
CAMERAS OF iPhone XR
The iPhone XR uses machine learning to offer Portrait Mode with the rear camera, which was earlier offered by Apple in the form of dual cameras.
Even with the use of the single rear camera, XR still does a good job especially when we are talking about edge detection and the Bokeh effect in portrait mode, but you can’t compare it with the iPhone XS. You will also notice portraits taken with the XR had fewer details as compared by the iPhone XS.
You will not get a telephoto lens with 2X zoom, you have to be physically closer to the subjects in order to activate the portrait mode. The resulting shots are actually wider since the lens is being used rather than a narrow telephoto lens.
Portrait mode on the XR will work best with humans and not animals or objects since the machine learning algorithms have been optimized for the Humans only.
Overall, the performance of the iPhone XR’s camera is identical to that of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.
So, let’s go back to the question from we started with: is the iPhone XR a compromised device?
While Apple has used an LCD display, it would be disappointing for some users. Talking about the performance and camera quality, the iPhone XR is a good choice and has a perfect match for the more expensive iPhone models as well as other flagship phones.
Now come to the iPhone XR price in US, You have to pay Rs. 76,900 for top-end variant, the iPhone XR isn’t exactly a bargain, but this phone is value for money than the iPhone XS, and also the iPhone XS Max.
If you are not an iPhone lover, there are some great Android flagships including the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro and some other phones in the lineup.
I hope my iPhone XR price in us and review is helpful for you.
I will be glad to know if you have any questions regarding this iPhone XR price in US or about anything in the comment box below.
The Samsung Galaxy Note10+ comes with a new design and has a unique Infinity-O display. The design is similar to the S10 series as it also has a camera but on the corner of the screen and on the Note+ you can see the camera in the centre of the display. This Infinity-O display won’t distract you.
Galaxy Note 10+ has a huge display which curves on the sides. It has thin bezels on both top and bottom of the phone. The backside of the phone gives you a premium look as it is made of glass. It also has curves on the sides. This phone is very comfortable to hold. The overall design of the phone is very good and gives you a premium feel.
The right side of the phone is completely empty, and all the buttons are placed on the left side. This feels a little odd at first. On the Galaxy Note 10+, you will get the Bixby button on the left side, but you can also use this button as the power button. Taping the button lets the phone move down in standby mode and the long press allows you to use Bixby feature.
The behaviour of the buttons can be changed to the traditional setting.
The microphone is placed on the top of the device with a hybrid dual sim tray. The primary microphone, USB Type-C port, loudspeaker grille, and the S Pen are placed on the bottom of the phone. Galaxy Note 10+ comes with a four-camera at the back. Three sensors are placed in a single module and the fourth sensor is next to it the LED flash.
3.5mm Headphone jack is missing in this device. But Samsung gives you an AKG headphone in the box, with a USB Type-C connector. The sound quality is very good and you don’t need to buy another headphone.
You will get three colours options in India: Aura Glow, Aura Black, and Aura White. Aura Glow looks like a mirror finish and splits light into green, orange, and red when it bounces off the back.
Samsung gives you a transparent case in the box. Galaxy Note 10+ charger is rated at 25W — although the phone supports fast-charging up to 45W — and has a USB Type-C port. Galaxy Note 10+ comes with a charging cable with USB Type-C connectors. Both devices Galaxy Note10+ and the S Pen are rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.
SOFTWARE AND SPECIFICATIONS
Samsung claims that Galaxy Note10+ is the highest-end smartphone in the Note series. Samsung powered this phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor in some parts of the world, but, in India, Samsung powered this device by the Exynos 9825. This is an upgrade over the Exynos 9820 which was used for Samsung in the previous Galaxy S10 series. Octa-core processor is used which is based on a 7nm process with two custom cores clocked at 2.7GHz, two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.4GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.9GHz.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ comes with 12GB of RAM and you can choose between 256GB and 512GB of internal storage. You can expand the storage on the Galaxy Note 10+ and for this, you have to use a microSD card to add up to 1TB more space. The hybrid dual-SIM tray is placed at the top of the phone.
You will get 4G as well as VOLTE on both the sims. You will get Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and four satellite navigation systems. Samsung Galaxy Note10+ is powered with a 4,300mAh battery. You will get a 45W fast charging support along with wireless charging 2.0 as well as wireless reverse charging, Samsung calls this Wireless PowerShare.
Samsung has used a huge 6.8-inch Super AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution for this device. Resolutions can be changed. This Super AMOLED panel is also HDR10+ certified. You can choose between two display modes, Vivid and Natural.
Samsung has combined this display with stereo speakers. The earpiece doubles up like the second speaker. The Galaxy Note 10+ supports Dolby Atmos. You can select between different audio profiles and if you want you can select it at auto.
You will get an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor in Galaxy Note 10+. It unlocks the smartphone very quickly. I found it to be well-positioned and useful too. You can unlock this phone with the help of face unlock.
The Galaxy Note 10+ comes with Android Pie and the latest version of UI. It has an app drawer, and when you swipe right from the home screen it takes you to Bixby Home. Samsung, Google, as well as Microsoft gives some preinstalled apps on this smartphone, along with Facebook and Netflix. My Galaxy app kept pushing spammy notifications, which you can disable.
Samsung’s Game Launcher collects all your installed games together. You can choose between three modes which are “Focus on Power Saving”, “Balanced”, and “Focus on Performance” for all games. By default, the phone is set to Focus on Performance.
Digital Wellbeing mode is also present on the Samsung Galaxy Note10+. UI has the traditional three-button navigation layout, but you can switch to swipe-based gesture navigation.
Samsung has worked with Microsoft to add a new feature called Link to Windows. This app lets you connect the device to a Windows PC so that you can access text messages, notifications, and recent photos, etc.
Samsung’s Dex feature now works on both Windows PC or Mac simply by connecting the Note 10+ to it using a USB cable. You have to download the Samsung Dex app on the Windows/ Mac machine to use this feature.
Samsung Galaxy Note10+ S Pen
So talking about the S Pen, which distinguishes the Note series from all other Samsung smartphones. This time the S Pen is thin as compared to the previous one which we have seen. It connects to the Galaxy Note 10+ via Bluetooth and the S Pen charges automatically when it is in its silo.
You can jot down the stuff quickly by pulling out the S Pen from its silo when the screen is off. So that you can take notes. When you pull out the S Pen it automatically launches Air Command, which lists all the different actions you can perform with it. There is also an option of Smart Select which lets you select content on the screen to share directly. AR Doodle switches the cameras. PenUp option allows you to draw using the S Pen. This device is now able to recognize and transcribe what is written in the notes, with the help of optical character recognition. This makes your handwritten text searchable as well as readable.
Over the generations, Samsung has added more and more Air Features to the S Pen, giving it more functionality as compared to the S Pen that we have seen on the Note 9. The button on the S Pen can also be used as a shutter button for the camera app, but now using gestures you can switch between the primary and the front selfie camera, you can also change camera modes, zoom in, and zoom out.
PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY LIFE
Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ offers stunning performance. We never wait for anything to load, and even heavy apps were quick to load thanks to the 12GB Ram. With 12GB of RAM, multitasking is a breeze even with multiple apps running in the background. We opened over 45 apps on the device and doesn’t notice any kind of lag.
Note 10+ display has good viewing angles and it automatically gets bright when we are outdoors. The display support for HDR10+ and you can enjoy HDR videos. The speakers are quite loud, and the stereo effect adds to the experience.
We played PUBG Mobile on the smartphone, and all the settings were set to high, and the phone showed no signs of lags. We played for 20 minutes at these settings and the device get slightly warm to the touch. The device dropped a 6 per cent battery at that time, which is acceptable. The Infinity-O display was not an issue while playing PUBG Mobile.
Samsung Galaxy Note10+ comes with a 4300mAh battery, which delivers good battery life. In the HD video loop test, the Galaxy Note 10+ managed to run for 17 hours, 9 minutes.
You can charge the phone quickly with the help of bundled 25W charger, which can charge the Galaxy Note 10+ fully in a little over an hour.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is currently the best smartphone in India, and it is the new flagship phone by Samsung. This smartphone has a stunning display, quad cameras, and lots of software enhancements. You will also notice the hole at the top of the display.
Samsung has added some new functionality to the S Pen in the form of Air Actions. The S Pen is very useful as a remote shutter button for the camera, the other gestures feel quite gimmicky. The Galaxy Note 10+ gives you good battery life, with the use of fast charging.
You have to pay Rs. 79,999 for 12GB of RAM, and 256GB storage , and Rs. 89,999 for top-end variant which is 12GB RAM, and 512GB storage . Galaxy Note 10+ seems too expensive. However, in terms of performance, software and hardware package isn’t exorbitantly overpriced. If you have enough money and you want to use the latest technology and you don’t mind spending much money, the Galaxy Note 10+ is one of the best devices that money can buy at the moment.
I hope my Samsung Galaxy Note10+ Review is helpful for you.
